This review will focus on Brahmastra Part One Shiva directed by Karan Johar, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Alia Bhatt
"Brahmastra: Part One Review" is the worst movie of 2022 so far. It’s a slog from start to finish, filled with boring scenes that call for exposition and flashy action scenes. The film makes it seem like director Ayan Mukherjee wants to give his audience something grand on a stage as big as the superhero genre, but Brahmastra never manages to reach its goal or box office expectations from critics' reactions so far.
With a Grand budget and some bright stars on its side, Brahmastra: The Greatest Illusionist was bound to be special. That didn't stop it from being an unmitigated disappointment
Superhero Extravaganza Underwhelmingly Launches Franchise
This family-friendly action-adventure circles well-charted territory that was previously meandered about by other recent Hindi language superhero pics, like “Krrish” (2006), “Ra.One” (2011), and “Krrish 3” (2013).
The main selling points of “Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva,” which follows a formulaic plot to thwart an evil demigod, are its lavish special effects and MCU-style branding. (The movie is the first in a planned “Astraverse” trilogy.) Neither the action scenes nor the musical numbers stand out though, and none of the characters or their performers transcend their expected roles.
Even after a disappointing string of movies from Bollywood in the last year, this movie gave hope and looked promising. The trailer looked amazing and everything looked positive. But Bollywood struck again with their mediocrity. The trailer is designed to fool the audience. Again, the film falls flat on its choppy story and bad screenplay. The makers of this film tried to cover it up with spectacular visuals but the story has more holes than swiss cheese. Amitabh Bachchan is impressive but can't be expected to carry the entire film. Same old clichés and masala love stories have been added in this film also. And it feels the movie is half hour too long. Overall, the hype is not real and not worth it. The two stars are for Amitabh Bachchan and visual effects.
If you want big music and extra ordinary visuals! This movie is for you!
I went in for content, and it was just okayish. At times, even boring in the first half.
It
annoys me how difficult it is for big Bollywood producers to understand
that big popular casts, music, visuals and promotion aren't what make a
movie, but instead good story and more importantly, amazing
storytelling abilities!
Wake up Bollywood! Now is the time!
Note: Don't praise advance booking as it's just result of good promotion, and not good movie.
1 star for the efforts put in making thise vfx realistic
1 star for the interesting idea of Astra
I just hope the 2nd part is better.
